Question M5 not working in Auto

We just bought a used YAM CK-5 (1990) lathe with a Fanuc OT controller. In auto mode the spindle will not stop with the M5 command. It just sits and waits. But in MDI the spindle will stop with the M5. Any thought on why this is happening?
    Thanks,
    Craig

Put the machine in single block, and step thru the program. The line that keeps the green cycle start light on, is what is not completing. That will give a clue as to what is wrong.

Thank you for your feedback. We had had already done that. This is an established program not new to this machine. One of our vendors we outsource to went out of business and we bought their machines and also hired the guy who programed and ran this machine that was already making this part. We had problems with the rigging company who transported the machines to us, a lot of stuff got broken in transport. So I hopping something came loose and someone knows where to look.
    Thanks

A broken part should not let M5 work in MDI. If you did the single block test, what block did not complete? The block that keeps the Green cycle start light on will tell you something. Not an program problem, an hardware problem. Its just a matter of knowing what the machine does not want to do. The block it hangs up on will probably have more than one command in it.
