Default New to forum - NEED HELP

Not sure if this is the right area to ask, but my home built CNC router has started stopping randomly with a signal staying external e-stop requested. E-Stop has NOT be pushed. I have tried replacing the E-stop with no improvement. I have by passed the E-stop which I am not comfortable with. I was in the middle of an 11 hour carve yesterday and could not afford to lose the setting so I have to keep power on to it and trouble shoot. I really didn't do anything other that I kept messing with the E-stop wires when it let me reset it.

I then replaced the E-stop wires thinking there was something wrong with one of both of them. It ran fine with less than an hour to go when it happened again. I fiddled with it some more and it let me reset and finish that run. Unfortunately it did loose Z depth position by couple of thousandths. I ran the finish pass one more time a 90 fpm (been running at 50 fpm). It ran with no issues but I have several more jobs to complete for clients for Christmas. I can shut down after that and tear into it deeper but I can't afford to do that right now.

ANYBODY experience this issue before and what did you do to fix it?

    Thanks,
    Mike

It's a common occurrence, usually caused by noise triggering the E Stop or limit switch inputs.

If you are running mach3, increase the Debounce setting (if using the parallel port). If you are using a motion controller, some have their own noise filter settings, but some do not.

Is your spindle motor a carbon brush type?

Thanks, I will try increasing the Debounce when I get back to the shop.
