Maybe double check the 5v power supply polarity.

Does the C10 have a power supply jumper?

    Hi carnagex

what kind of 5V power supply are you using ?
a USB cable plugged into your PC or a small wall wart mains adaptor

a good picture of the underside of your C10 would make it possible to look for
signs of a short circuit or poor solder joint

a link to the wiring diagram you followed will also be usefull

with the wires to C10 board disconnected you can test the board
using a digital multimeter to measure the resistance
across the GND and + 5V supply terminals (+5 = red & GND = black)

you should measure over 100 K ohms
with the meter set to diode test the power indicator LED should light

if supply terminals are short circuited
make a note which way round the IC's are - a photo helps
    un plug them all
reconnect the supply then switch on and confirm the short has gone
switch off , then replace the IC's one at a time
switching on and retesting each time
until you have found the faulty IC or IC's
