    Default writing G code

Hi all, I've been running a few test programs on Mach3 using the supplied wizards but want to write some simple G code programs myself.

This may sound like a really dumb question but,
Do you need software to do so or can you just sit down and type the code in like in a word document and then save it?
Have tried that but when I try to load it into Mach3 it dissapears.

    Any ideas/suggestions??
    Cheers very much,
    Steve.

Anything like WordPad should work, make sure it saves as ASCII text, no embedded codes.
Also you can write and run it in a free simulator like
