Hi,
I would like to ask you what method, software or other way do you use to calculate your cnc machining time for part. How do you calculate your price to your customer? I started to work with CNC machines about one year ago and now i get more and more orders and this takes a lot of time for me to make proposals for my customers. Not every proposal ends with order. Till now i used to make program for any of my request and calculate machining time in this way but as i said this takes a lot of time. Maybe there is somebody who can share his experience with me. I would be very grateful for any help.

Something to consider :
KipwareCYC : KipwareCYC - Machining Cycle Time Estimating and Quoting Software for Machine Shops from Kentech Inc.
We have made up a excel sheet with each tool listed for each fixturing. We input size, SFM, ipt length of cut and it calculates cycle, we add load/unload and operating efficiency, material and desired dollars per hour. Result is selling price. We make one sheet per operation. Pretty simple

We use calculation based on experience , If you have similar parts in size and work as new job you can make raw calculation based on experience with your other job. If you have serious job and qty. it's always the best to make simulation or test production ( this way the customer will know what kind of quality to expect and you will know that you have good price )
