Hi all, Well after waiting what seems like forever for Rutex to get on the ball with thier 2000 series drive gecko's are looking better all the time. I have 500cpr encoders for my new router that I am in the process of building and have seriously started thinking about using G320's. My question is I recall hearing that people that had higher count encoders had problems with them faulting due to the limited 128 count servo lock. Did anyone ever fine a solution for this? I'm about to the point of ordering the drives and am wondering if I should just got with gecko's. Also it seems the Gecko customer service is about as best as someone can get! Darren |

| Darren, When I started my CNC (V1.0), I was using 1000 line encoders (4000 quadrature) and the only problem was the unit was slow due to computer speed limitations. In my latest setup, I am using 500 line encoders and with a new power supply, am getting 120 IPM rapids on my mill/drill (X and Y axis only). With properly tuned drivers, the following error is not a problem. Matter of fact, I like the idea of a tight system. Would I use Geckos again. You bet your sweet bipie :})

| I would not go any higher than 500 with the G320. I use 250 count encoders and can get close to 200 IPM on my mill/drill.

| Ok, I just wanted to make sure before I go ahead with geckos. The servos on the router will have belt reductions that should put me around 200IPM (atleasted designed to run at 200ipm) wether i get it to go that fast remains to be seen. Thanks for the info guys Darren |

| Kburn, you can read all about the 320s and 340s at the Gecko website. There is plenty of info there. www.geckodrive.com |

| 500cpr encoder, is it 500 x 4 = 2000??, or 125cpr x 4 = 500?? Im a bit confusing about this issue, Gecko can go up to 500 and no more than that, does it mean it accepts no more than 500 lines encoder(2000 quadrature)?? happytriger200 |
