GECKO 201's ?

I am in search of power ! I am geting ready to get steppers for my new machine.....
Looking at using the Gecko 201 drives...... Anyone want to offer opinions about these ?? What about compatibility problems ??

I am looking for 450-650 Oz in steppers..... and drive system.......of course at the best price - anyone offer any help ?

I am putting them on a 3 axis router table.....

Why not go with servos and use the Gecko G320 drives if you are really after power.

I dont know enough about using servos basically and had most people tell me use stepper.... plus they cost quite a bit more....

I need 700-800 oz in steppers.... dont know the equal

Just got this running last night about 11:00 pm and couldn't stay awake any longer. Hardly wait try making chips with it. This is my second CNC mill. The first used 160 ox/in steppers and a Xylotex driver board. Very nice, and easy to get going.



The latest machine uses 3, 201 Gecko drivers and an Axxus control board and used 550 oz/in steppers. I got the steppers from work where they are changing them out for servo's. I tried to make this machine as rigid as possible for machining metals.
The table and saddle not only runs on linear ball bearings but is supported with brass slide rails. No vertical deflection. This should be a light weight portable mahcine.

If I make a little money with this stuff I'll build another machine using servos. I just got into CNC 6 months ago. Great to have yuour own machine to play with in spare time. I have taught the grand kids how to engrave their names in wood using the CNC.
