Can anyone advise me whether a 5 phase stepper can be wired to the G540's? Given normal steppers are 2 phase and the 5 phase is in a star configuration, can the 540 support this type of motor? If not, what does /thanks |

| 5 phase motors are imop a obsolete design that where designed to allow smoother stepping most are .72 degrees. A 540 will not drive them they require a special wave driver. I would use the 540 and replace the steppers with modern square step motors. They are not that expensive anymore and can be gotten to max out the 540 performance if required. |
