Mariss, how about developing a $100 3-Axis budget Geckodrive?

Marris, there are a lot of $60-70 drives on eBay from China which use the Toshiba TA8435H IC. They seems to be ok, but seems to have very little support. Your G540 is best drive of its type and is very capable. The problem is, not every one need 4 axis bullet proof high power drive with all of the bells and whistles. For many, it too expensive. For someone like myself who is on very tight budget, can not afford to shell out $300 for this drive for my hobby. My company closed and right now I am out of work!

I am sure that you can develop a single board 3-Axis drive like shown on the link below with off the shelf IC like the TA8435H.

I am willing to bet that you can sell tons of them.

Buy me a Beer?

He tried that, and ended up with the G540. The target price for the G250's was $30, but they ended up costing $70. You can read the 1700 posts here.

If Gecko built a drive using those chips, it'd be the same drive as the ones on Ebay, only it would cost more because it's not made in China.

So basically, you want him to build it for the same price as the chinese, and give free support too?

Right. Then it should have been a PM if only he should reply. Xylotex makes a decent cheap 3 axis driver. It's what I started out with. It doesn't need a BOB, so you save a few bucks there. It will also save some not having to buy a large power supply. It only accepts like 28 or 30 VDC.

One works with they have until they can afford the Gecko. Gecko's quality and service make them worth more than what they sell for now.
