Before I start I would like to publicly thank Gecko Drives for the great service they provide. They make it very easy for electrically challange people like me to feel more confident. My problem is this. Last week I had done something with the Y axis drive ( I was building a heat sink) anyway I had not noticed that a lead had become disconnected. When I put the power to the drive the Y axis took off and crashed. In the process burned out my the drive. At this point in the build I don't have limit switches yet, but as Mach3 was not even running I am not sure it mattered anyway. My question is there a way to protect the drive against this sort of thing. Can I fuse each drive and if so what size fuse can I use? Thank Keyes |
