Misc. stuff on the G540

Nice write up on the G540 and great build log on your website. Your heavily modified Solsylva came out a heck of a lot better than mine did!

You keep mentioning that you got those temperature displays/sensors for $3/each - can you post a link to where and share the wealth? Thanks!

The temp displays are actually $3.95, not $3.00 - my fault, I will change it on my site.

They are at:

Don't know how much they will tell me , but I should have a good handle on overheating!

REV,
I enjoyed your site and the video. can I ask this? why are you crippling your setup with only a 24 V PSU? Add a larger PSU and you will get better performance from the steppers.
If and when you start cutting and get stalls on your steppers. Look at this as a source. Other then that man, GREAT SITE AND MACHINE!!!!

Well, as I mentioned on the blog, the 24V supply was cheap. The major cost of a linear PSU is the caps, especially since I already have a xformer and a bridge. If it starts to stall out under load, I will look at that. I appreciate the advice.

revwarguy
how did you wire up your limit and home switches ? I have red the gecko way and the homans way . still trying to decide how to wire them up . I would like to have a mpg pendant and a touch probe too. and the 540 only has 4 inputs.
any thought on this
thanks for your time
