Does the fuse need to be close to the gecko, or close to the source?

or does it really matter?

close to the source would be easier and cleaner.

Any ideas?

I dont see any reason it needs to be close, I have mine set up rather close because the entire box is pretty small. I am using 5a fastblow fuses.

Mine is close to the geckos.
