g540 question

well i got my g540 today wow its smaller then i thought it would be,lol ... so my set up has home switches and in the doc that came with the 540 it shows them being wired with no pull down/up resisters so are the built into the integrated g540 bob?

also i bought the 387 steppers from keling and am going to run them at 42v what amp rating is every one setting there 387 at? i was going to use a 3k for 3 amps ??

You should run the 387s at 48V and 3.5A. 3.5K resistors are hard to find. 3.48K resistors are available though.

You will also need some other stuff:

You can use THIS wire for motor cables and home/limit switches. Ground the drain wire ONLY at the driver end. (Pins 3,4,5 for motors, PSU Ground for homes/limits) It comes in 100 ft roll.

You won't need any db9 motor connectors with the G540, as they come WITH it. The G540 also has circuitry for simple spindle speed control and outputs for dc relays to turn coolant pump (Or router motor) on or off.

You will need THESE 1/4 Watt 3.48K resistors for your 387:

They only come in a pack of five, so about $1 for 10. With shipping it's about $3.00

You will also need an estop switch, Home/limit switches, Helical couplings and a 6 foot "straight thru parallel port cable. These are all available from Keling:

thanks for the info i have to run them at 42v volts tho i have a bank of 8 6v batteries with fully charged gives me 52v so i need to drop one out so i don't go over 50v really it will be around 43v with 7 batteries,

OK great so run them at full 3.5k/3.5 amps

what about the inputs pos 1,2,3,4 do i need pull up /down resisters?
