320 capacity limits

Hi zoners!
Making the jump from stepper to servos.
Found a rusty old 'magnetic BR60L 20/17'
52v at torque peak.
nominal current of 9.1 amps
peak torque current of 53 amps
back e.m.f max is 176v
it also has a brake and a tacho/dyno
i have loads of other boring data on it i'll omit
big heavy motor, will the 320 gecko push this motor near it's maximum rated voltage, say at 75v?

i'm guessing i'll have to fit an 5v encoder.

plan to build a 'huron' style benchtop with the servomotor as the spindle motor so i can synchronous tap and have a bit of HP.

All opinions would be apreciated, cheers Derek.

Does the name G320 designate 320v max back emf?
I read in other forums they can take up to 80v 7a.
If i am reqiuring 9.1 amps, is it the same deal as with steppers that if the current/voltage is to low that the coils dont build sufficient charge, and then motor potential is seriously hampered?
Steppers look far easier to set up, but only half of the potential.
Has anybody got a large servo running gecko????

Thanks mike, if I put 20 amps into the ohms law machine I get 175v at 9.1 amps.
Is this correct? it sounds bang on the money.
From what I can see the 320 receives step/dir and figures the rest out.
Can the brake be reconfigured?
I dont have a science degree so I wouldn't dream of integrating the transducer.

Cheers!

Thanks bubba,
I found a pallet of rusty old servo's outside a abandoned factory, thought I could use one but they clearly are to massive for a budget hobby user.
Emailing logitrol, but all those industrial type drivers are just way out on price.

Probably Ebay 'em and buy something more user freindly.
