g540 with quickstep software

has any one used quickstep with g540 I like the learn feature of the software
my question is I have to rewire parallel cable but what about pin 4
will that not damage gecko if i follow the software wiring

The Pin changes you make are between the parallel port and the
breakout port. The gecko you hook up the breakout board according
to gecko's instructions.

the g540 comes with a breakout board which is internal
pin 4 on the g540 is for y axis quickstep software pin 4 is for enable all 3 motors if I connect pin 4 to gecko g540 to enable all 3 motors
is this not going to cause a problem

It seems to me that you need the breakout board from Hubbard,the
sellers of Quick step. It is equipt with jumpers on all its pins, that way
you can set the pins the way you need them to go into your g 540.

I was hoping not to buy a breakout I can rewire the cable
has anyone ran g540 with quickstep I would like to no what they did about pin 4 did they connect would it work If I didnt with this software
