The power supply does not necessarily put out 20amps, it is capable of supplying a load of up to 20 amps, the current depends purely on the load.

If my power supply puts out more than 20 amps will the drive only take 20 amps or do I have to restrict the amp output.

So is it ok to have a power supply capable of out putting 32 amps? Which is what I bought off ebay a Lambda 48v 32amps switching PS. Now if I could just get the supply to output the power I will be ready to wire Electricly challenged needs help with linear PS
