Need Help!- old motors new drive?

HI

A friend of mine has an old CNC plasma cutting machine is a micatronic 2500,
On the motors it says SEM MADE IN LONDON.. i think the year is 1989?
I talk to a person from micatornic and he say that they later exchange that motor drive whit bruny14

The software and the motors drive is very old

Now I am thinking is it possible to get a gecko drive to work whit them motors
And use mach3 software

Check the specs on the motors at the SEM webside. USe the maode and S/N.

Once you kown the specs (amps, volta) you can sthen "size" the servo amps as needed.

YOu ight even find the specs on the motor ID taks.

Whne you work on old legacy equipment, one somtimes has to do a lot of legork and/or goo scraping to properly identify motors for interfacing with newer equipment.

TH factory servcie place for SEM is Clarkson in USA. I d'not know who does service in Europe. If you call and ask SEMm be prepared with more info than you presented here. MOdel number and S/N MINIMUM should be on a motor tag. My SEM's have amps and volt ratings also which is he essence of your question..

today i was able to take some pictures of the motors.. meaby you can see if is possible at all... ther are only to identical motors on system...

any reply would be appreciated.
