G201/G212 Loosing Steps! Help!

I have an axis that is loosing steps like crazy.
The only indication I have is that the red LED on the drive dims when the motor is running.
None of the other axis LED's dim, and they are fine.

We are getting so backed up with work, and I'm lost.

I have tried changing the following:
Motor
Parallel cable
Computer
Drive (4 different 201's and a 212)

Tested all output wiring for continuity from motor to terminals on drive.
Tested all input wiring from DB25 to terminals on drive.

Exactly the same result each time.

Note that this (dim LED) occurs even when there is no motor connected to the outputs.

It almost seems like the X axis is drawing too much current. When I jog X- and any other axis, they both lose steps. When I jog Y and Z together, they are fine.

Also, this machine has been running okay for two years now. Problem started when I decided to make the Z motor wiring a little longer.

Any ideas?

TIA,

Joe

Problem solved...
It turns out that I had also added a 12v muffin fan to the 12v output of the common PS. This fan must have been drawing some current on the 12v side, reducing the available power for the 80v side.
Disconnected the 12v fan, and everything is back to normal.
