| Hi ALL, Newbie here. I took over a CNC conversion plan form my friend. It is a traditional manual vertical knee-type milling with a 9"x40" table, 5" Z axis travel. Its X, Y axes have already modified for servo motor mounting, but its spindle head (Z axis) not yet. I will design the casting for z axis later.. The problem I meet is its control system(G320). My friend wired this control box according to two diagram from internet( Jeff Davis, HomeCNC and Donald Brock, Thanks.) But my friend's setting is something different: a) Two (Three for later by myself ) Ametek 600(615?) oz/in DC servo-motor, 38VDC, peak current rating is 12 amps with 500CPR US-Digital E-2 type encoder from Camtronics. b) A 36VAC,10 Amps toroid transformer, bridge rectifier, 40000uF 50V caps with 1.2k 5 watt bleed resistor. These Questions are: 1)The power voltage after bridge rectifier is approx. 53 VDC (read from multimeter),does it be suitable for my motor working? Because I read the G320 installation note, they tell me don't use PS voltage more than 5V in exceess of the motors rated voltage. I confuses with it. If this power voltage is not good for motor, Shall I custom a 27~30 VAC toroid transformer to match the motor rated voltage? 2)This 36VAC,10 Amps transformer I use seems not enough to afford 3 motor working. How many amps do I need for 3 motor working in practice? 3)The capacitor setting (40000uF 50 V) is different from the wiring diagrams, does my friend's setting appropriate? What kind of influence will get in the control system if high value caps are applied? And does the 1.2k 5 watt bleed resistor (according to the diagram)need to modify to match the caps(40000uF) setting? Thanks for any information. Taki |
