I looked at the Gecko driver boards when I build my CNC mill but went with the Xylotec board and it is a good board.

Now I'm thinking of building and even larger CNC mill using some free 500 in/oz stepper motors (Superior Electric). What is the largest stepper motor the Gecko board can drive.

I think 7 amps is the limit, but your motors should be fine. My CyberNC router drives 650 oz-in steppers with Gecko 201s.

your mill is incredible! Very nice work. Can you tell me what size (diameter) precision ground rods your using? I want to make a cnc router and am interested. Check out http://www.geckodrive.com/ for infor. They way 7 amps is max.
