Pin 1/Output 2 would be E-stopped as well.

For clarification,

EMC2 HAL pin --> Parport Pin 1 --> g540 --> output 2 (Pos/terminal 6)
EMC2 HAL pin --> Parport Pin 17 --> g540 --> output 1 (Pos/terminal 5)--> CNC4pc relay (Coolant/Flood pump)

If you also use mist coolant, you could use output 2 to fire the second relay and the mist solenoid. Just mentioned because AXIS is preconfigured for this common use.

Output 2 and the CNC4pc relay could also be used for Stop/Start or FWD/REV of your spindle.

I'm not even not even using Pin 1; terminal 6. But I had it set as E-Stop.

Pin 17 is what I'm using for FLOOD.

Ok guys, so I have been toying with it now and stuff. So from the earlier posts, do I need to make the pin (-xx instead of my -xx-not) This should change it.

Cause Again, Output 1 is not used, Output 2 is for the coolant (Pin 17) and the E-Stop (Physical pushbutton) is connected to Terminal 10 on 540. This disables the 540.

The Relay works with M8,M9 and control. Just when I enable E-Stop, it goes on while 540 goes into fault. Which makes sense.

I'll also post my HAL if I have more problems.

This is the relay I have: http://www.cnc4pc.com/Store/osc/prod...products_id=50

I have everything wired, but it seems that it can only be wired one way. Everything works in EMC2, I can control the ON/OFF of the pump with EMC2, it runs m8/m9. But when I physically push the E-stop on my controller which puts everything to hault on the 540 the pump goes on. It won't however go on when I use the E-stop in EMC2. Which is what I want...

So how do I figure this out if I can't rewire the thing?

Were close.

I think this is the behaviour you have to investigate. The physical E-stop should behave the same way as the logical E-stop in EMC. Perhaps there is an EMC configuration setting that is off?

Speed,

Is there a active low or active high switch in the software for the logical "EMC2" Estop?

Jeff,

Yes there is. The EMC2 Configuration Wizard's Parallel Port Setup menu has invert boxes for pins 1 through 15. Clicking on an invert box adds a check mark and inverts the logic. My system requires ESTOP out (pin 1) to be checked or it will be stopped all the time and clicking on the estop button in the EMC2 AXIS display will not do anything. Since Jason can run his system I believe he has already checked the invert box. However, I do not know if his current wiring scheme will allow pin 1 to be inverted again (back to the default unchecked mode) and cure his problem. I would suggest that Jason try it to see if it works for him.

My system uses the EMC2 supplied 3 axis Xylotex gantry router configuration.

SpeedsCustom, did you ever get it figured out why the relay outputs turn on in E-stop? I ask because this very same thing is happening to me. I'm using both outputs for spindle and vac. Both are on in E-stop. I haven't messed with my HAL files in EC2 yet so both are on all the time. How did you get this to work, or did you not use it and manually turn on and off.

Sadly i'm so busy with working on the machine, I have not devoted time to figuring out the problem. Everyday I think about it, "when am I going to stop plugging in the coolant and un-plugging the coolant), gets pretty annoying. I have a few projects I need to tackle, but this is number 1 and I just want to get it done already.

My mistake. My SCRs do turn off with E-stop. Just have to figure out how to turn them off in EMC2. I made a diode board that lets me toggle switch on the router or vac, or lets EMC2/G540 turn the on. LEDs on the panel tell if on and which is doing it.
