| Hi all, I have run into a problem regarding the G251 User Manual, Rev-7 dated July 27, 2008. I found this after killing a couple of my brand-new G251 drives (sniff, sniff). On the first page of the manual, the terminal descriptions show the WRONG MOTOR CONNECTIONS. The pins called out are 4,5,6,7. When I generated my schematics, this is the page I used - consequently the motors were connected wrong, and two drives went bye-bye. The second page of the manual shows the correct motor connections. I found this when I sat down and reviewed all of my documentation to try to figure out what happened. I ordered 4 drives when they were on sale, expecting to keep one drive as a spare in the future. After correcting the schematics and the wiring, I have two functional axes and two dead drives. I just wanted to bring this to the attention of anybody who has yet to power-up. Make SURE you are connected according to the SECOND page of the manual!! I am thrilled with the smooth quiet operation of the two working axes. I have two other machines here using HobbyCNC drives, and they work well, but the G251 is an outstanding value and controller. Hope this helps! Doug |

| I prepared a corrected G251 manual on August 7 and I have no idea why it wasn't put up on the website immediately. I have attached the corrected manual and I will see to it that it gets uploaded today. Please return the blown G251s and you will get replacements for them. Sorry for this screwup. Mariss |

| Hi Mariss! I think this manual came with the drives. It is printed on green paper and I don't have any of that ![]() Actually I was relieved to find an error (somewhere!) that would account for the problem. I power up equipment all the time (work for an automation company) but I always have more trepidation when it comes to steppers - they are SO unforgiving! ![]() Thanks for your excellent products and support!
