| ok, Im done, I am just done, looks like in this case the xylotex kit would have been the better more cost effective time effective way to have gone. the machine would have already been producing wax models, instead now both of my machines are down. I have lost 3 days in total. |

| I want to extend a big thank you to jack from minitech. I got the machine second hand and had it refurbished at the factory. Even though I bought the gecko g540 from gecko direct Jack and I were up late last night trying to figure out the issues I was experiencing. While not able to solve the problems I was having, He showed me alot of little things to test and try that I had not thought of. The support was welcomed greatly even though you could have said it wasnt your problem............. Again Jack thank you and sorry for keeping you on the phone so late. |

| In my experience, if there are electricals and mechanicals involved, there can be problems setting things up. If you only have electricals, there can be problems setting things up. If you only have mechanicals, there can be problems when setting things up. If it is a plug and play system, there can be problems when setting things up. If you had it working great on one side of the shop and moved it across the shop, there can be problems when setting things up. If it all works great and you had no problems setting things up, then the next time you turn it on, you may have trouble with the setup. You will learn a lot the longer you do this. I have had lots of brand new stuff that simply did not work. Sometimes I go to do a small job that should take 10 minutes. Things just snowball on me and I wind up taking a couple days to do it. It is times like these that have taught me to cherish those times when Murphy's visiting someone else for a change. ![]() I do sympathize with you though. Time and effort will usually fix these kinds of things and they do teach valuable lessons. For this reason, I am very glad that I built all my machines. I can troubleshoot them pretty well now. Let us know how it goes. Gecko will take care of you.

| Lee, this is not my first rodeo, I have a maxnc 15 (if that tells you anything about what type of problems I have had to overcome) that is now producing very clean wax models for lostwax casting. I have delt with that machine and now have it smooth, fast, stable and accurate. But it is amazing how something so straight forward can humble a guy. |

| ok, so its a new day and I have slept. I am not easliy beaten. ok, so im stubborn as hell!!!!!! Figured might as well give it one more day. Question............ I know the motors are going to make a woooooosh sound at idle. This is normal. but is my Y stepper suppose to make a ticking sound at idle? Just noticed this this morning because I dont have any music playing. I switched the Y to the A axis. Put a battery backup on the machine and am running a test path now. |

| The motors on my machine make only one sound until they start running. That is a thunk when initializing. When at idle, they don't say anything. I use 203's and 201's now. I have to jog them to even know they are on. I have heard ticking and clicking before with the Xylotex and the 201's. There was something amiss with the computer. One I changed out the keyboard and that corrected it. The other time I just changed computers and that fixed it. Not certain what the actual fault was. Possibly electrical noise or computer timing issues. I hope you get it sorted out. Good luck on it and I will try to help if I can, unlike bagodoughnuts sarcasm.

| the wooshing sound I have to put my ear to the motors to hear it. But the ticking sound from Y was audible from sitting in front of the machine. it was not a rhythmical sound either. I have tried different computers, LPT cables, keyboards, mouses (Is that right ) |

![]() ![]() At idle, your motors should be silent. Have you gone through the XP optimization stuff? Ken |
