Setting up the G540

My G540 rev3 arrived. soldered up one motor connecter and hooked up the power supply. and plugged in the LPT connector according to manual I dont have an estop or charge pump but I do have a Fault light on the 540. Is there something else needs to be done for this to work?

You need at least 10kHz on the charge pump input. Without that, the drive will not work and will not come out of fault. Also, be sure that you have the DISABLE pin shorted to signal ground or running through a SPST switch that is switched "on" for it to come out of fault as well.

I also posted to your yahoo group about this you should see the post there is a contradiction from page 1 to page to page 2 as to which terminal is disable input, See E-stop info on page 1 says term 6 page 2 says term 10, I assume it is terminal 10 that goes to ground terminal 12?

The 10khz you mention for charge pump input how do I get that? is there some additional hardware I need? If so where do I get it?

Thanks

Yes, the correct terminal for the E-Stop is 10 and this will be fixed very soon. The 10kHz is required on pin 16 of the DB25 which will come from Mach3. We test it here with a function generator running at 10kHz, and it can go as low as 5kHz on some G540s.
