Most of you know the problems I have been having with my gecko 202's. For those who don't, I've been running my 202's for almost a year. They have faulted over and over again. I have returned them for checking and they always come back as "testing good." They still faulted constantly. I have some very good friends out there. Thank you all, you know who you are. One of these nice people sent me 4 201's to try out. I put the 4 201's on my machine and haven't faulted yet. This is the first time in almost a year that I don't stand back and tremble a little when I start a job. I would like to return these 202 drives for a refund but have been rebuffed by the kind folks at Gecko. Looks like I will have spent about 900.00 to get 4 working drives. Anybody want to buy some defective (to my machine) g202s? They test good though!! |

| Wes, I don't think you should use our drives. We are refunding you $536 for the 4 G202 drives. Keep the drives, put them on ebay or throw them away; we don't want them back. The person you talked to was upset by your threatening phone call. I will not tolerate our staff being abused so I'm exercising our right to decline service to you in the future. Mariss |

| I just find it odd that all four drives are faulting out and they get the blame. Especially after they were checked and found good. I could see faulting on two or three, but not all 4 unless something else in the console was interfering. I don't know the ins and out of the 202's. I have 201's and 203's. I did have some trouble with the 203's at first and i know matter of factly that Gecko does indeed test and repair these if possible when they get them back. Sometimes they even figure out what boneheaded thing I did to cause the problems. I was switching the DC side of the power supply. That is taboo. I never had all three go bad though. It was one once, then two and then two again. No more trouble since I got the last ones back. That was the first of the year and these three machines run sometimes 7 days a week. The point I'm trying to make is that possibly there may be a noise issue that doesn't effect the 201's for one reason or another. Perhaps the wiring was at fault and you fixed it when installing the 201's. Its all kinda mute at this point I reckon. It just doesn't feel like an entire ball of wax.

| I agree Leeway, I didn't bring up this issue to be contentious, but to get back to work. This isn't a hobby for me and these problems have cost me untold thousands of dollars and hours of heartache. I tried everything suggested to me to get back to work. I've talked to the makers of every part in my controller and a couple of electrical engineers. I've even had one come about 3 1/2 hours drive to my shop to check out what's going on. We even put an oscilloscope on my outlets and checked the power for stray signals. Nothing there. I have a whole controller built by a big cnc company on its way here this week. I can't mention the brand for obvious reasons. I am thinking about taking the 201s out of the loaner controller and putting my 202's in there and see if the problem follows them. I may not post the results here though since I am personna non grata for having problems and the point would be moot. To you guys asking for free drives; That isn't going to happen. When I get my money back, the drives will go back to Gecko. Doing anything else, even though Mariss said differently, would be stealing from Gecko in my opinion. |

| Wes, You've had a rough run of luck for several years. You owned an older model Shopbot that you replaced with another "major brand" CNC Router. That machine didn't live up to your expectations. You returned that machine and bought the new model PRS-Alpha machine from Shopbot. That machine was returned after it proved to have too much "chatter". Then you built your own machine that has controller problems. That's a long rough road to find a machine that does what you want it to do. Good luck with your new controller. |
