Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. I'm running three G201's with 1200 ozin steppers on my X and Y axis. This setup is on a converted Bridge Port look alike. I have read as much information as I can find, but still don't know how to fine tune my steppers. I'm running Mach3 and have set my accel, and rapids per Mach Manual / input from others. As the system is running ok, I continually find that as the mill is running, the X and Y motors make a vibration noise. If I increase my feed rate up to 20 to 30 IPM they seem to smooth out. However when I want to run some engravings or some fine detail work they are quite noisey at 10 to 15 IPM as they pass thru a certain RPM. I have read that there is a trim pot inside each drive. Are these to be adjusted to fine tune the drives to achieve optium performance??? Thanks for any help!! olf20 |

| easy..[I assume], just like it says in the manual for the 201.... set a slow speed, they say about 1/4 rps, and set the trimpot for least noise... here's a link to the pdf manual http://www.geckodrive.com/photos/G201_REV-5_MANUAL.pdf I don't have 201's, waiting for my first set of 203V's enjoy.. |
