G203V - HomeShopCNC

Hello all,

I have built one of Joe's 2006 CNC kits and currently have it running with the Xylotex ready kit with 269oz stepper motors.

I'm in the process of setting up my new power supply / control cabinet and will be purchasing Gecko's drives and new stepper motors in the next week or two.

It looks like the new G203V is the way to go and I would like to use the 500 oz/in Model # RS23-500 motors from HomeShopCNC.

It would be greatly appreciated if I could get input on this setup!

Thanks

Bob

Talking vampires & 500 oz motors

hi bob that is the route I took also.203 vampires and 500 oz motors ,52.6 volt power supply (at the capacitor),candcnc mini io breakout board all on a 4`x3` gantry router.they run so smooth and fast. For nema 23`s they are very strong for their size.I also went with 3\4 ballscrews which helps alot.
I dont think I would go much smaller on the power supply end of it either.

hope this info helps GED.

Thanks GED!

I've got two toroidal transformers, one is 48v and the other I believe is 60v, I'll have to double check so I can't swear to it, but it's close. I will be ordering the motors, drives and a C11G multifunction board this week. Eventually I want to add the G100 but that will be a little later on.
From what I have been reading so far it looks like I am going to be very happy with this upgrade and will see a big performance improvement.
I figured by now someone would have suggested bigger motors...

Thanks again for the help and if you or anyone else cares to comment further it will be greatly appreciated!

Bob
