Question Ethernet communication with GRex 100?

Hello Friends,
I have a brand new G100, and certain begginer problems

I don't want to use MACH3, but my own custom made software, and I want to communicate with GRex over ethernet.

Does anybody know something about g200x protocol and UDP messages exchange between PC and G100?
I got two firmware modules, one is GeckoMotion which is using USB, and another one wich is made for MACH. Which one supports g200x?

So far I tried to send discovery message to G100 over ethernet and there is no answer. GRex Loader is working fine, so it is not about cables

BTW, I asked questions to the Gecko Drive support team, there is no answer ...

Thanx in advance!

I would like to know how to use ethernet with the GeckoMotion software. It seems that ethernet would allow any computer on a network control a G100 if ethernet were used instead of USB.

My application is a simple point-to-point CNC router sized machine (48" x 96") to quickly and accurately position a drill to place 5mm holes in cabinet parts. Tests have shown that by using the G100, G203, Oriental Motors PK299-02A stepper motors, 3:1 gearing and text files with GeckoMotion software, that speeds of 2,400 inches per minute are easily obtainable; however, USB with GeckoMotion is the weak link.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mike, I quit the Gecko Motion, because it seems like it is USB only, very slow and, a very weak feedback. Not good enough for me.
I don't have any motors or drivers yet, I got G100 so I can develop my own CAM software and interface to G100. My project is a plasma cutter which will have a PC as a console.

The file g200x.h is a C++ header that is the part of G100 and MACH documentation CD. It describes UDP messages that are exchanged via ethernet between PC host and G100. So far I wrote a software that send "discovery" message and G100 replies with full status information. I am focused in fully implementing g200x protocol and pack it in a DLL so I can go further.

When you assign an IP adress to G100 with GeckoLoader, once it is fixed there is no problem. I used crossed cable for the first time, latter I tried with a LAN switch with several other computers on the network and there was no problem so far.

You see, since I was a SW engineer I take a different aproach, software is the key

Did anyone ever get the ethernet communcation working here? I am trying to communicate via Visual Basic.net over ethernet. I would appreciate any example code of anything that is even partially working. My application is not cnc.
