I have a CNC machine that uses three G320s, and a week or so back, one of them apparently died (I was using the machine to perform some pretty minor cuts (low load) and it had just finished. I switched off the router motor and tried to jog the gantry away from the current position, and nothing happened.)
Because the machine is new, the manufacturer is sending me a new G320, but in the meantime I've removed the failing unit (thanks for the help Drawbar) and taken a closer look at it.
I've run through the start of the installation instructions from the geckodrive website - namely connecting ERR/RES to ENC+ and supplying it with power. As I saw with the unit in the original control box - the FAULT light stays permanently lit.
I've confirmed that all the motors on the machine itself are fine, and a quick visual inspection of the G320 circuit board doesn't appear to show anything cooked.
I'd really like to find out what killed the unit before I go putting in a replacement, as the only electrical 'event' was me turning off a Porter-Cable 892 router.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Cheers. |
