G100 Speed control

Does the G100 support the use of a spindle speed controller? When I read the product guide I didn't see any mention of it. Is this something that could be run off one of the auxilary outputs, or are those strictly boolean (on or off)?

Buy me a Beer?

Someone makes a 0-10V isolated card for speed control with a G100. I think it's Homann designs

This card will work as a spindle speed controller with the G-100

PWM to analog 0-10 vdc, with CW and CCW relay

Fred,

As far as I understant your statement is incorrect. The G100 does not have PWM outputs. Quoting from the G100 manual;
http://www.geckodrive.com/photos/G100_DESCRIPTION.pdf

5) 4 Digital to analog outputs. Each output is a 0 to 5V (0 to 10V optional) op-amp output and 8-bit resolution.
To convert the G100 0-5V dc outputs to an opto-isolated 0-10Vdc signal you will need to use a DigiSpeed-GX

BTW How is the DigiSpeed you bought of me a couple of months ago going?

Peter.

Have a look at the DigiSpeed-GX. It has been specifically designed to work with the Gecko G100.

http://homanndesigns.com/store/index...products_id=21

It is suitable for use with VFDs such as the Automation Direct GS2 series, as well as other controllers requiring a 0-10Vdc, 0-5Vdc or any voltage up to a 15Vdc control voltage. The DigiSpeed-GX provides the following features:

* Linear DC voltage output (0 -100% of isolated voltage source).
* Max voltage output of 15Vdc
* Multi-turn trim pot for scaling output voltage
* LED Indicator for input signal activity.
* Soft start voltage output
* Mode selection via pluggable jumpers.
* Optional onboard 5V to 15V DC isolated voltage generator.
* 3.5mm pluggable connectors for easy maintenance.
* 4 mounting standoffs for easy installation.

Output voltage may be controlled by;

* 0-5V Analog voltage signal as supplied by the Gecko G-Rex G100
* Pulse With Modulation (PWM) signal as supplied by Mach 2 PWM Spindle Control.
* Frequency signal as supplied by Mach3 Step/Dir Spindle control control similar to stepper motor drivers
* On-board Multiturn Trimpot. This mode is primarily for setting the maximum output voltage attenuation.
It is currently going through it's final testing and is to be released on Monday.

Peter.

Peter
Wait what are the chances that Fred would order a digispeed when he was coming out with his own? I dont copy you?
