Gecko Alternative?

Is there an alternative to Gecko drives? Since you need three of them for all thee axis, the total soluton is not cheap. Is there an alternative which perhaps can drive all three steppers in one unit?

Xylotex builds very nice multi-axis drives. From everything I hear their support is excellent and the drives are reliable.

If you want comparable performance, then there aren't really any other options in their price range.

Example:

I use Superior Electric SS2000MD7 drives. They are equivalent to the Gecko 10 micro step drive. The only real difference is the max frequency of operation.

Gecko: About $114.00 each new.
SS2000MD7: $1,400.00 each when new.

If one of my drives fail, I will replace it with a Gecko. Best value in CNC in my book. I have built about 5 other systems for others, and have used the Gecko product in all of them. Not a single problem or failure in 3 years.
