I have a problem with tuning my motor In Mach3. I have wired it for half step. I have to set the steps to 20,000 to have the movement to be acurate. But at that step the motors sound bad and mis steps. What am I doing wrong. Thanks I finally got it. Thanks Last edited by Ed Williams; 04-11-2006 at 02:43 PM. Reason: I finally got it. |

| hello all... i'm indonesian i'm trying to learn about mach3 .... but still confusing how to setting configuration in mach3 i try to run stepper motor 2,8 A with g201 (power supply 48 V) just using x-axis .... i wiring motor to 201 : black to phase D, green to phase C, blue to phase B and red to phase A. i was using 5 A fuse in power, without capasitor... dir and step go to g100 and common to +5 V.... i use resistor 33K LIM go to limit switch NC then ground... the connection of g100 was success.... but the motor just tremble without turning... any body give solution ... ? thx.. james |

| James, "Trembling" results when only one winding of the two windings in the motor is connected to the drive. Verify both windings have continuity from the drive to the motor. With power off, use an Ohmmeter to measure across terminals 3 and 4, then terminals 5 and 6. Both readings should be equal to your winding resistance, just a few Ohms. Ed, Make sure you are using an approved breakout board (Bob Campbell Designs, CNC4PC, PMDX or CandCNC), you have set "STEP active low" in Mach3 "ports ans pins" and "Step Pulse Width" is set to 2uS in "motor tuning". dear mariss, i was try to the step pulse width in motor tuning but no result ... 1. in port setup, i just choose port #1 (address is 0X378) 2. in motor output i just mark x-axis, according with my wiring 2nd column step input = pin2 step low enabled, dir low enabled step= port1, dir =port1 3rd column dir input = pin3 3. i didn't using e-stop so i enabled aktive low (is it true ?) 4. in motor tuning steps per = 1000, step pulse =2uS, step dir =0 i didn't use an approved breakout board, i just make direct connection from my laptop to g100 with cross ethernet cable ...... i was measure ohm meter wiht power off.. phase a = red phase b = blue phase c = green phase d = black phase a and phase b = 1,6 ohm phase a and phase c = 100K ohm phase a and phase d = 100K ohm phase b and phase c = 100K ohm phase b and phase d = 100K ohm phase c and phase d = 1,6 ohm also i wanna ask..... could you give description step by step how to setting configuration in mach3 software.... i'm sorry about my asking and my bad english ..... i'm very new in this job .... thx for ur help ... james Last edited by james_flofull; 07-25-2008 at 03:03 AM. | james, Sounds like you are trying to configure Mach with a parallel port setup (port address = 0x378). With the G100, you will work mostly with the plugin configuration, meaning the g100 plugin must be loaded before you have access to this menu within Mach. When you first start Mach it will start the plugin and establish communication and give you an OK message if successful. Your stepper readings look like a&b and c&d are your windings which should correspond to Mariss's aforementioned terminals 3&4 and 5&6. |

Thanks for your reply.. i was know that the mistake causes by wrong installation .. so i was uninstall mach3 and g-rex loader.... then i re install the program ... i read again all manual like "G100 setup guide", "G-rex programing manual", "G-rex setup dummies", etc i was copied the plugin....and follow the instruction, i was setting the IP address and G-rex was found...... but when i click "launch firmware loader", the page cannot be found ... whats wrong ? what is the limit temperature for G100 motion control ? in celcius ... thanks for your help .. james |

hello ... can help me ? i'm using G100 at the last time i was "launch firmware loader" with g-rex loader cause the gecko was found, but i think i was set the wrong IP address. And also i was download in "download manager" according in G100 setup guide... Now i wanna change the Ip address, but when i "launch firmware loader" cannot find the web and IP address changed to old IP address... thx.... james |

| ehello i've a problem about Ip setting. i'm using g201 to drive stepper motor, connect to g100 as a motion control i'm using mach3. i was set all configuration according setup guide. i was run grex loader.exe and grex was found. but when i run mach3, it can't comunicated.... my IP address is 192.168.1.100 and my g100 Ip is 196.254.70.50. subnet mask : 255.255.255.0 but when i run the grex loader, g100 was found i think i was use wrong IP when startup the grex loader at the first time ... so when i run mach3, it can not comunicated. i try to change the g100 ip, but no result , the IP rechange to first time IP ... what must i do .. any body can help me ? thanks for any reply .... |
