encoder question for use on G320 | |
i have a minertia servo motor with an encoder already attached. i am running this on my mill/drill and am wondering if i need to change to a different encoder. the current encoders are quadrature as best i can tell and they generate 2000 pulse/rev. is this too much? i will be running this through a 2.5 ghz P4 desk top computer. its for a home cnc conversion and i'm not really looking for high speed, although i will be later. i have 5/8 roton ball screws and will have a 3:1 ratio between the screw and the motor.
any ideas would be appreciated, i'm new to all this.
