Hi, I have ncpod board gecko202 drivers , power supply 24v/6A and motors; Model # 24H290-35-8B Bipolar Serial specs - 2.5 A/phase - 2.4 ohms/phase resistance - 8.4 mH/phase inductance Bipolar Parallel specs - 5.0 A/phase - 0.6 ohms/phase resistance - 2.1 mH/phase inductance I like to use bipolar parallel setting but I don't know what resistor I need to buy. Thanks for any help. |

| How many motors do you plan to drive with that power supply? Are you concerned that the power supply will not be able to supply sufficient current? It is probably not a good idea to wire that motor for bipolar series. As it is, your power supply voltage is somewhat low for that motor when it is hooked up as bipolar parallel (the recommended voltage in that configuration would be about 46 volts if I have done the math correctly). With a bipolar series hookup, even though the current requirement would be lower, the recommended voltage would be closer to 90 volts (but I believe that the driver is only rated for a maximum of 80 volts). Using only 24 volts in that configuration would probably lead to reduced torque when you are trying to run at higher speeds (or you may not be able to run at higher speeds). You might want to consider getting a power supply that is more closely matched to your motor's specs. |
