I'm trying to limit the current to 8amp on my gecko drive(G320). When adjusting the limit trimpot, how can i tell when it reaches 8amp?

I know the Gecko G201 & G202 use an external current limiting resistor, so you must be using a different model! Could you be more specific?

If I am not in a mistake, geckos are 80V, 7A max.. so 8A sounds very difficult to achieve.

20amp is the max for G320. 7amp is for G201 for stepper motors.

Your meter needs to be in series with the motor to measure current through the motor, like this.
