What information do you have? Do you know the make and/or a model number? How many wires are there? Are the wires color coded? What, specifically, are you going to hook them to?
Remember, the purpose of these is to provide feedback to indicate position. They don't really consume lots of current. All they will output (to the drive) is changing voltage levels/low currents. So the right question is this: "What supply voltage is required for my encoders to operate?" These are logic level circuits, so it would be most common for the supply to be 5 VDC. Apply too much voltage and you can poof the circuitry inside. Post you encoder's info. here and we'll see-it's almost a given someone here has seen them before. Good luck!
