    Current Set Resistor?

I need a 1.85K resistor for my stepper and G540 combo. The closest I can find is a 2k. Besides using a G540 EZ how would you solve this problem? Does wattage matter also?

You can get close enough by using a 1.5K and 330 ohm in series. That will give you 1.83K. Or use any combinaton that will get you close (+/- 5%)

how about KL34H260-35-4B stepper 3.5A, what a best resistor?

    Hi Bob,

as the Gecko spec is 1/4W 5% (1k per amp upto 3.5 A max)
    you could use a 1.82K or 1.87K 1/4W 1% metal film resistor
    and still be within 1.85K + or - 5%

    John

    PS have a look at Digikey.com 1.87K 1/w 1% part number 1.87KXBK-ND

    Hi bel630,

while the maximum current is 3.5A without a current set resistor
I would use a 3.48K 1% resistor so the output current is reduced in standby
