Hi, I have extra g250x's from G540 used for lathes (2 axis only) I would like to know if I can use kapton tape to isolate the mosfets from a piece of bare aluminium. Thanks

Yes Kapton tape is good for 7000 vac and good to +300f I have used it as an insulator before. It is also thermally conductive so if your bare aluminum happens to be a heat sink so much the better.

Just be careful the Aluminum doesn't have any burrs that will cut through the Kapton.
