Angry G540 noise and voltage on Pin 6&7

Just got my G540 2 days ago.

I try the following Setup :

- No DB25 connection .

- Pin 11&12 > 24V DC

- Pin 10&12 EStop

- Charge Pump OFF.

-DB9 To My Motor 3A 4 wire - > 9Neg 8POS Phase A - 7Neg 6 Pos Phase B.
-DB9 a 2.7K resistor to Pin 1&5

The Green light is On ( )

My Motor make a low noise sound .
When I measure DB9 pin 98 I got 0V - but when I measured 7&6 I got 2.2V

I think 2.2 V on 7&6 make that noise .

Any sugestion ????????

Buy me a Beer?

Just curious - how are you measuring the voltage across pins 6 and 7?

Are you using a multimeter set to AC volts?

Do you have access to an oscilloscope?

Is it the same on the DB9 for every axis or just for one axis?

motor hum noise

I use a volt metter , put Neg on -B (pin7) , put Pos on +B pin 6 .
The volt metter show 2.2 V

Yes the motor run , Yes it is working but it is fair to have a silence motor when it is idle specially I payed $295 hard earn money for the G540.

**************** G540's motor make that hum noise when it is idle, he just expect we live with it

Please clarify - is your meter set to AC volts or DC volts?

Is it the same on the DB9 for every axis or just for one axis?

It would be good to put an oscilloscope on those pins to see what kind of signal was actually present.

The G540 manufacturer has a good reputation for support. Have you contacted them directly?

Unhappy

Thank You Doorknob .

I will call Gecko on Tuesday . I am just very frustrating , I wish and willing to pay a little bit more money so I don't have to go through this debug hell .

I am making another trip to get a set of capacitor : 2000uf , 4000uf , 6000uf ,(I already have 10000uf) , 12000uf , 14000uf .

Frys Electronic charge $6 for each piece ( $30 ouch !!! )

Will test , and report back this afternoon.
