UK GECKO GUYS ! G540 / G250 Users what steppers do you recommend from UK suppliers

    Hey Guys

This is my first post on the forums so be gentle

Im just starting my first CNC router for wood and light ALU milling around 800mm x 400mm table with probably a 10 pitch lead 5 on the Z

Im looking to import a G540 from Keling as even after import tax it still works out cheaper than buying one in the UK about £200 .

i have been looking around and it seems quite hard to match up some lower induction steppers keeping near the 3.5amps from a UK supplier just wondered what you Gecko guys are using that seem a good optimum match, maybe i am being too anal. (im looking to run at 48v maybe 43v)

This link could be useful if anyone else is looking to import to work out the taxes you can even state a ebay listing number .

    Duty Calculator

    Best Regards

    Koog

Finally met Keling at a show this past week.

He sells a good line of steppers. If you're going to pay freight and duty on the 540, why not just order your steppers from him.

And by the way, I think he gives you a discount on the 540 if you buy other things from him.

Yer i looked into that TarHeelTom but with the extra weight and import tax the 3 steppers work out at around £150 ($239)

3 of these run to £72($114) delivered in the UK i think the inductance (3.2) running the Drives at 48v isnt too bad ? and there 0.7AMP over spec to the G540 but importing is still an option

i looked at some of the chinese stepper vendors on ebay and some would look ideal by there specs but i just wonder at what you will actually get.

    Thanks

Yep - self made power supply 30 - 0 - 30v Transformer, output gives me about 42-43v @ 11A after rectification and smoothing cap and steppers wired bi-polar parallel, all through a G540 version 3.
