More problems

*sigh*

Problem, again. This time it's the X axis Gecko 320 drive. It seems like it's not accepting the feedback from the encoder. I've tried 3 different encoders, each of which is in perfect working condition. I tested all these combinations of motors and encoders on my other drives, and they work fine. That's why I'm afraid something has blowin inside my X axis drive. After I reset the powerup fault, the motor runs away. I guess this is a good sign, because nothing in the ARM+ ARM- circuit is blown. Mariss, is this something that could be repaired under the warranty? I've only had it a month.

Yes, I am using the resistor over the encoder +/- and supplying an outside 5v line because all my encoders draw more then 50mz.

Sounds like you are right. The only possibility would be to double check the cable to make sure those pulses are getting to the drive.

Please return the drive for evaluation. Include a note describing the problem and any event that coincided with the start of the problem. If the drive is repairable, we repair them for free. If it is under warrantee, unrepairable and the cause is deemed to be our defect, we replace the drive. Sometimes we replace drives anyway if the user admits to doing something dumb to it. We call that our "one time, stuff happens deal".

That sounds like the most flexible warranty I've ever heard of I don't believe I did anything stupid, because all my other drives work perfectly. In any case, I'll get it sent out tomorrow. Since time is important to me, could I order a replacement for my blown drive, and maybe another for my Z axis and be credited later when the problem has been diagnosed?

Well, we are not that flexible. Normal is to return the drive, we repair it or replace it or give you the bad news if it is unrepairable and out of warrantee. We then return it to you. Anything else confuses the living daylights out of accounting and I catch greif.

I don't think that is the problem because the other drives that work are wired the exact same way.

Hi Mariss, I'm just checking to see if there was any good news about my drive.

Thanks in advance!
