Adding Inputs to G540????

I am new to the whole electrical side of things and trying to understand everything. However I have what I think is pretty basic but can't find a straight answer. I have a keiling g540 controller. I was wondering what is the easiest way to add extra inputs instead of the 4 that is already there?

Would buying a breakout board and adding another parallel port to my pc best the best way?????

I believe you can add a second parallel port to the G540 for extra inputs,
I haven't tried this myself but recall reading that you could

I run two parallel posts for additional inputs but you do not need to hook the second port up to the G540. See the thread on setting up solenoids.

Thanks guys, I ended up scrapping my g540 controller and going to build one with 203v, and pmdx126, along with a pmdx-108/
