These look like a possible candidate ?
    Digi-Key - 609-1524-ND (Manufacturer - DE09P064TXLF)

Solder cups large enough for 20 awg is no guarantee of rated current handling above 3A.
My mistake for not checking. For me this is only a bit of a solder job, or at least I hope the female DB9's on the G540 have no damage. Overall the Gecko resellers are good people trying to provide a service and make a buck, I hope this all gets ironed out to everyone's satisfaction

Is the cable at the G540 a solid molded piece? If so then the resistor can't be there. If it has as DB9 backshell that can be taken apart, take it apart and look for the resistor.

If anyone is worried about your cables drop me a PM or email 'birt_j at soigeneris dot com'

Thanks, that's a very generous offer.

I bought directly from Gecko and got the 4 DB9's that I was entitled to in the deal and I don't feel you owe me any extras. Is the Digi-key item I linked to unsuitable in some way ?

If the current set was placed somewhere less convenient, the temptation to hook-up extra machines would be reduced. Don't tell the Sales Department !!

Ok, my machine has been running without issue for quite some time now (issues related to cables)... Using the cncrouterparts cables. Guessing they are fine. Now I need to take the resistors out of the motor end and build a little plug to put it on the other end?

    Kinda sounds like a pain.

I don't recall getting any db9's when I bought my G540... but that was a long time ago... I know the shells I have are radio shack grey shells.

Call Gecko. They'll send you the db-9s. But since it looks like Gecko is doing something about the problem, I'd probably just wait.

eh, it's been a long time, mine might of come with them...

But either way, where can you pick up good quality db9's, both male and female to put together an adapter to put between the cable end and G540?
