Hello everybody ! Received my Gecko drives yesterday, LA to Sydney in 72 hours, now that is quick delivery ! Now, there are a few things that I would like to clear before I flick the switch; Is filter capacitor needed on switching power supply ? My power supply is 7.3A 48V so it would be (100000*7.3)/48 = 15208uF 100V. And if capacitor is needed, what value bleed resistor should I put across it ? Last thing, just to be safe I would like to put a fuse in between the PSU and Geckos. Should I use fast blow 7A or 3.5A (motor rating) fuse ? Thank you ! | A filter cap isn't necessary or needed with those power supplies although if you wanted to add one it would be fine. If you do Use a cap then add a 900 ohm 5 W bleed resistor. Dmauch@camtronics-cnc.com low cost cases for gecko products. kits , custom and assembled stepper and servo systems.
