I recently upgraded to 3 201x Drives, they move my motors and table perfectly, however with my limit switches and Estop connected in either a active high or a active low configuration Gremlins appear. These gremlins kick my reset of my software, (Mach3) when ever I enable the drives, if I enable 1 no problem, if I enable 2 or more the reset will not reset, like a limit or Estop has been tripped. When I disable the drives, I can reset. I went into config. and played with the debounce, I am now at a debounce of 12000 which seems high, machine runs smoothly this way, however if machine is idle for 5 - 10 minutes the reset pops on also a couple of times I was running a drilling program I wrote and when the last hole was drilled I sent all axis to zero and the reset popped on, not every time, I checked in config. and had not told it to reset on a program end. Thoughts anyone? |

| Thanks You, I think you have it. When I had took my switches out of circuit, no problems, this time I disconnected my motors at the drives, again no problem, I had put my Oscope on limit pins and could watch the noise build as I turned on the drives, now the noise is so small I can barely measure it. Now for the story, my old drives didn't pare up to my motor ratings I found out, causing me some problems. so as money and time would allow I upgraded. My drivers are mounted in my computer case, as it is large, when I had more time than money I would clean up my wiring, I cop a nut over clean wiring, I originally used Cat5 shielded cable but being a hard line, I went to a stranded cable because hard line isn't good when moved around and I remember giving a thought to shielding once! and ignored it! so if this is not thee problem it is a problem, I now got to figure out a way to shield my wires with materials on hand. So Bob thanks for the slap in the face (or realty check), I usually am not this sloppy and am very well thought out, but flunked kindergarden here. I will try to prove this out this week and will let you know THANKS again. Marcus simple answers better than no answer! JD. |

Thank you very much for the reply, read my reply post to BOB. Yes my wires run in parallel with each other, I pulled a newbies mistake when I changed the type of cabling. I had 2 replies with the same content. My hat is off to both of you, for shaking my tree. I out did myself cleaning up the wiring. |
