Im going to buy a Gecko 201X to wire up my Tormach Mill's 4th Axis. Tormach's Rotary Table uses a 640 oz 2 phase stepper motor so was looking to duplicate their setup. The company I am thinking of buying the stepper and gecko driver from is recommending a 4 phase stepper motor and suggested wiring for 2 phase. I dont know enough about the two to know what the difference is(if any). Is there any drawback to wiring a 4 phase stepper as 2 phase when using with a Gecko 201X? The power supply is approx 70 volts if that matters. David |
