Using the Err/Res signal to e-stop Mach3? | | Hi all,
I've been wondering if this is possible for a long time now. Here's the situation: My spindle is a servo motor driven by a G320. The problem I have occasionally is that if the spindle becomes overloaded and stalls, Mach3 doesn't know this, keeps on trucking, and snap...broken tool.
Is it possible to somehow use the err/res signal from the spindle g320 to signal back to the breakout board if the driver goes into fault mode? I can obviously configure Mach3 to watch a pin on the BOB and e-stop if the condition is right. Also, how would I reset the gecko after this condition? Would I need an external push button switch?
Can someone do a hand sketch of how I would wire this? Or maybe there's a wiring diagram for this already existing out there somewhere???
I have a CG11 breakout board from cnc4pc.
Thanks a bunch.
