Limit switch wire gauge
Electronically challenged here so forgive me.
Using a Gecko G540 what is the recommended/minimum wire size for limit switches? Can you use ethernet cable wires or are they too small?
TIA

Re: Limit switch wire gauge
ethernet cable should be fine, I used flat 4 conductor rj11 telephone cable (made sure it had stranded conductors), no problems ever.
the limit switch shouldnt draw more than a few tens of milliamps, so I would think cables rated for flexing and resistance to noise pickup would be more important than the actual size of the conductor.

I wouldn't recommend cat 5 or telephone wire myself. Solid core has a tendency to pick up more rf noise. Stranded is less prone to noise and breakage.

The best cable to use is shielded.I prefer 18/4 stranded as its more durable, and overkill to provide excellent performance. Simply use only 2 of the 4 leads. Simple, and effective.
