With a 5a motor, you'll only get about 70% of the rated holding torque (3.5a/5a).
No, you can't get a g540 that work with external drives, but a breakout board will do the same thing.
Hi
I'm going to build a CNC machine and considering buying a Gecko board 540. I have step motors and drivers. It is 5A stepper motors.
Is it possible to get a gecko board that is identical to a 540 board, with the ability to connect external drivers to, rather than the G250 X drivers that are in a standard 540 board. Or is it possible to connect a 540 board to 5A stepmotors? It is not necessary for motor to provide 100%.
Here are the specifications of the engines and drivers we want to use
