Gecko G213V or G203V plus PSU Choice
Hello everyone,
I have started to build a small CNC machine, mainly for wood use but will also use it maybe for small metal milling as well.
I have decided to use 3 x Gecko G203V or G213V.
Each axis will be directly drive a ball screw using a Nema 23 Motor (4.2A ), which I have not yet purchased.
I have not yet picked the motors or PSU.
My question is which gecko option would be better? I know and understand the difference and have done various calculations and maybe the 203V would be a good choice.
However, I am tempted to try the 213V purely because of the micro stepping, which I have not decided if I need or not.
The PSU will either be a 48V or 68V but again, I have not decided on this yet.
I am sure 48V will be a good choice.
The axis travel (XY) is small, about 300mm x 400mm with a Z of about 150mm and super fast speed is not a big requirement.
So, any ideas or general views on this to help me decide on the above choices would be really helpful
Thanks
Paul
